Tyrrell Nuñez

As a seasoned litigator and Certified Family Law Specialist*, Tyrrell Nunez is known for her persistence and ingenuity in complex family law matters. From the outset of her legal career, Tyrrell was exposed to all aspects of family law including strategizing cases, negotiating matters to complete resolution, and navigating through complicated and challenging legal issues.  Early in her career, Tyrrell realized this field of law significantly impacts the lives of her clients and decided to devote her entire practice to family law.  She maintained the position of Lead Associate at Simpson Law Group for several years and, in early 2021, the FMBK Team and Simpson Law Group joined forces. Tyrrell is now an FMBK Partner, effective as of January 1st, 2023.

As an Iowa native, Tyrrell was raised with midwestern values including the importance of a strong work ethic.  This adage became her regular practice in every avenue she pursued.  By the time she reached college, Tyrrell achieved a high level of performance and academic skill that led to her graduating, cum laude, 6 months before the rest of her class while competing as a college athlete.  Tyrrell’s diligence and internal motivation to succeed in every endeavor she embarks holds true today, particularly in her practice of family law.

Tyrrell’s background in piano performance and participation in sports makes her a strong team player and a great ally to anyone experiencing family law issues.  She is devoted to educating and engaging her clients in the complexities of the family law arena so they understand their legal rights and responsibilities, the law as it applies to them and the specific facts of their case, and what to expect during any court proceedings.  In doing so, clients are in a better position to maintain realistic expectations and are thus better prepared to make important decisions regarding their family and hard-earned assets.

Through many years of litigation experience, Tyrrell developed the inner fortitude to respond to adversity with calmness and self-assuredness when faced with high pressure conflict in the courtroom.  With a background rooted in a family-owned business, she understands the sacrifice business owners often make for the sake of their business, and is proficient in complex litigation and the use of experts, including forensic accountants, to validate, assess, and establish reasonable compensation in conjunction with valuing and dividing assets.

Tyrrell has been selected to Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars every year since 2020.  Her inclusion in the Super Lawyers’ list confirms her designation as a top-rated attorney and formal recognition by her peers.  Tyrrell earned a nomination for the San Fernando Valley Business Journal’s 2014 “Women in Business Award”, and was named a “Top Attorney” by Pasadena Magazine every year since 2017.  She was recently offered the opportunity to become an Exam Developer with the Department of Legal Specialization and is a devoted advocate for family law education.

Tyrrell dedicates her free time to her family, including her husband and their two young children.  She enjoys traveling, attending musical concerts, supporting her favorite charity, the ASPCA, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
